As an over 50s bloke, I grew up with all the wonderful technological achievements that have occurred since the middle of the 20th century. Every one of them new and amazing. Today's tech, by comparison, is nothing more than a series of incremental updates to the innovations of my youth. Modern mobile gadgets may be fantastic examples of miniaturisation but at the core they are nothing new.
The sad part about this is that the youth, and even young adults, of today take these wonders for granted and for the most part have never even heard of the original tech - let alone felt the thrill of using a digital watch for the first time and realizing what a pretty neat idea they truly are.
